Reflecting on my journey, the roots of my lifestyle choices trace back to my upbringing as the daughter of missionary parents. Life was a constant adventure as we traversed various locations. At the age of 12, we moved from Italy to Asia, and while our basic needs were met, we lived modestly, adhering to simple yet wholesome diets devoid of extravagance.
This ethos persisted into my marriage, where my partner and I not only continued the humanitarian work initiated by our parents but also embarked on the journey of building our own family. Even during pregnancies, I maintained an active lifestyle, pushing myself until the very end, and refrained from pampering myself as the demands of motherhood intensified with the arrival of my first and second children. Juggling homeschooling responsibilities, cooking, and myriad tasks associated with motherhood, I found little time for indulgence.

Opting for locally sourced, budget-friendly foods from nearby markets, we prioritized fresh, seasonal produce, steering clear of sweets and processed snacks. Instead, I took on the role of a home baker, crafting an array of delectable treats—banana bread, chocolate chip cookies, chocolate cake, and more—to satiate the family’s sweet tooth and provide wholesome snacks for my growing brood.
